Page rank Update Hits Many Websites

Yes Google has beat down many sites Page Rank recently. This should impact the link selling industry. What does everyone think of this recent Google action?

Personally pagerank to me is a pointless marketing tool which in fact does make google famous to webmasters, I dont think that actual pagerank results will have an impact on the link selling industry, however with that in mind & Google's new conquest to punish all those who buy & sell links such as paid web directory's will have a serious impact on the industry.

BTW: All my websites raised in pagerank by a minimum of 2 my highest page rank gained went up by a whole 5 full pagerank's on the last update.

My websites are so new that they didn't have a PR in the first place so the update hasn't noticeably effect me at all!

It is an google algorithm, if you want to concentrate on only traffic then ignore the PR and concentrate on SERP

This one is an old thread but I have to say I noticed the drop in PR of some good sites. But, some sites which are not so good made an increase in PR - not sure why. I'd have to say the last update wasn't too good. Some of domains that don't even have a site on them maintained their PR2

Hmm, but only to some extent. Sites which have traffic will manage to sell advertisement slots. I think people will now become more cautious while selling/buying links i.e. they would now offer/purchase links only to/from related sites.

You can either use Google Toolbar or free tools to see your PageRank. Tools like checkpagerank.net, digpagerank.com are good ones.

Concentrate on producing well-written, unqiue content on your sites as frequently as possible. Daily is the best policy for publishing fresh content, tharch engines love that.
