Depends on what (you think) you need. Do you want more sales or exposure opportunities to make more sales. Two very different things.

Sometimes marketing is easier than sales. Sometimes sales is easier. Placing Adsense Ads on you site is sales. SEO is marketing.

Please be more specific.

No doubt what kinetic said is true, and don't go often for high paying keywords, as they will kill you in a matter of days.

Yahoo actually has really good customer service over the phone and they can walk you through what you need to do to optimize your campaign. Honestly that'd probably be one of the most beneficial things you could do is call them if you have Y! and using it. They have Y! specialists that all they do is help users optimize Y! campaigns, they talked to me for 2 hours
