UKWW Seo Contest :: $1000 Winner

The UK Webmaster World forums (UKWW) earlier this week released details of a new SEO contest taking place, The winner of the SEO contest will receive $1000.00.

Update on the UKWW International Seo Contest:

What is the targetted keyphrase?
Well, the selected keyphrase will be announced at midnight of 31st of January.

How can I enter?
In order to help us identify you as a participant during the contest you need to do two things:

• Take the rules seriously
• Instert this html code into your competitive design page:

The UKWW are going to design a result table page for the contest and the value of the user tag will be displayed next to your result so this will identify you during the contest.

Rules

• You may use a domain, folder, or sub domain as your optimized page with one criterion. The page must be brand new, no back links no cached version
• Every optimization techniques are allowed except cloaking, and hiding text. We will periodically compare the optimized pages with their cached version in order to discover the cloackers, hence we kindly ask you to avoid using any kind of noarchive meta tag

How will we determine the winner?
We won't, but the Google.com. On the 1st of April at 1pm (UK time) the result table will be updated last time requesting the google.com/search?q=tagetted-keyphrase string and the 1st result will be the winner of the contest.

Notes:

• In order to provide the same chance for everybody, the result table will ignore the differences might be caused by the different geographic locations hence the above specified searching string will be requested every time when the reult page will be updated
• Prizes will be received via PayPal transfer.

Well its officially the 01 February 2008, the uk webmaster world forums are still accepting new participants up until the maximum of 300 contenders has been reached. With the competition now getting off to a very well awaited start skinner (ukww admin) released the targeted search term for the international seo contest of 2008.
Amazing the search term is in fact very obvious, so much so its actually painful to think about it is:

The targeted term being seocontest2008 must be used in that exact form meaning no uppercase variations, fullstops, spaces & hyphens for example: SEOcontest2008, seo contest 2008, seo_contest_2008 & SEO contest_2008 would not count as the search results. A quick check of Google.com for the targeted search term "seocontest2008" returns as no results found (by the time you check google may have indexed sites).
Right now the targeted search term has been released all those taking part in the seo contest now need to start there ethical seo, yes ethical no black hat or any attempts to miss lead the competition may face the beast & no longer be able to participate.

The UKWW have set guidelines for everyone to do now they know the search term "seocontest2008" these are:

• Create NEW page - The rules state you are allowed to use the following methods: A NEW Domain, A NEW Subdomain, A NEW Subfolder by the term NEW i mean the chosen method must be brand new with no incoming links, no cached versions.
• You must insert the following code into that page you are using:<a href="http://forums.ukwebmasterworld.com/" target="_blank" user="your name">UK webmaster forum seo contest</a>
• Once you have created your page to launch your seo efforts against the term seocontest2008 you need to go to official UKWW seo contest site and [fill in registration form].
• Now you are officially entered into the UKWW seo contest you can apply your best (legal) seo techniques to achieve the best SERPs for the targeted term.

The UKWW have a dedicated section for the current up to date standings in the seocontest2008, the current standings page is up dated daily, the UKWW recommend you subscibe to the thread rss feed, trust me im way ahead.

seocontest2008 I have a lot of catching up to do because resonate is still number one after 10 hours..

I am surprised at the amount of search activity on google for the term. The sites listed are using a lot of social sites (my weakness) I hope in the next two months things will change.
