By registering and participating in the Experience Advertising Forum discussions, you agree to the following Code of Conduct. If you do not agree, you must not participate in forum discussions at any time, any violation of these rules will result action being taken to ensure the safety of members, you & the staff at Experience Advertising.
This is
YOUR community. Most people have a common sense or feel for what is and what is not appropriate in our forums and you generally do a great job of policing yourselves. We do, however, need to have a few set policies for everyone to refer to when the need arises.
- No inappropriate user names. Inappropriate or offensive user names or aliases will be removed.
- No affiliate links are allowed within posts or signatures, all affiliate links posted will be edited & if members persist on posting affiliate links action will be taken.
- Be respectful to all users at all times. Please use etiquette and politeness. Everyone should feel comfortable reading posts and participating in discussions.
- Please avoid spamming. Any member found to be intentionally spamming our community will be banned immediately.
- Additionally, flaming on the forum is not allowed. Most often, a "flame" is simply a statement that is taunting and thus arbitrarily inflammatory. However, this also includes those which are libellous, defamatory, indecent, harmful, harassing, intimidating, threatening, hateful, objectionable, sexually explicit, or offensive in a sexual, racial, cultural, or ethnic context.
- Posts containing personal views on or references to controversial subjects such as politics and religion are monitored, unless the topic is of obvious business interest. Even then, members must use discretion and keep the discussion confined to the business-related issues.
- Adult Content / Violence / Illegal Activity: messages containing sexually oriented / violent / illegal dialog, images, content, or links to these things will be deleted. Messages with links to or suggesting illegal activity will also be deleted. Posting or linking to any of these could result in a ban.
- If someone posts a topic you think is inappropriate or you feel is spam, please report it. In the lower right corner of every post you'll see a link entitled "report to moderator". Click the link and you can leave a note saying what you found to be wrong with the specific post. It will be reviewed by the administrator and he'll decide what needs to be done with it, if anything.
- Please strive to communicate with other users as effectively as possible:
- Please try to write your posts in English unless you are participating in a localized general chat forum, where you are permitted to use another language if it is in common use in that forum. We have many users from many different countries who visit our forum and English is the common language of these forums.
- Please do not write posts in uppercase letter only, as it looks as if you are screaming to the people reading your post.
- Please refrain from using "leet" speak or slang.
- Please do not shorten your words to acronyms or abbreviations. It is very difficult to read and understand.
- Remember that this is an international group & everyone is welcome to join, so be open and sensitive to cultural differences.
- There are no stupid questions. You're not a stupid person simply because you don't know how to do something, or do not have the answer to a question. Everyone was a green user at one stage.
- Searching the Webstandards101 Forum is a quick way to see if someone has had your issue and if it has been answered, there's a good chance your question has been answered before, and you can find the information you want quickly.
- We reserve the right to monitor the forum and delete any postings that do not adhere to these rules, our standard site terms and conditions of Website Use, and our privacy statement. This includes postings that disrupt or interfere with our technical operations.
- Finally, we reserve the right to immediately delete any posting or ban any user at our discretion.
Thats the nasty bit out of the way, so lets all stay within the rules & hope your time with us at Experience Advertising will be a great one.
